Lady Parsons presided as MC at the Miss Bridlington contest, ably assisted by Dame Michaela Hannan.
Contestants nervously await their call for the 'Evening Wear' round.
Miss Mursell made several last minute adjustments to the standing rigging, but to no avail.
Even after receiving outside assistance there was simply not enough rig tension, . .
. . and the resultant sagging luff cost her several places in the first round.
Contestants changed into 'Swim Wear' for round two.
In spite of a dramatic final entrance, Miss Alanna Ritchie failed to impress the judges.
Miss Bridlington and other things.
Another contestant bows out, leaving only the Angel Twins and Miss Paula Barnes to go forward to round three - the Pole Dance !
Paula prepares to execute the Pole Dance, but she's nervous.
The judges found her performance to be somewhat tentative, and 'disappointingly terrestrial'.
The Angel Twins began with an energetic circuit of the pole, before . .
. . stunning audience and judges alike with a fantastic vertical shimmy, taking Jerry . .
to the very top of the pole ! (Unfortunately there was too much smoke to see to the top)
Stephanie SkyWalker couldn't quite make the top, but by now the crowd was roaring, and it really was all over for Miss Barnes.
The Twins off to celebrate their win. Asked about their training regime, Jerry dismissed the climb. " T' were nowt special. When ah sailed wi' me dad as a lad, 'ee used to send us up mast to look fer t' wind". "Aye, it's alus bin grim up North" added Stephanie.
John & Joyce Henderson won the Spinnaker Raffle (Spinnaker donated by Paul Barford)
Alan Ritchie & Janet Gatehouse announced their engagement !
The Angel Twins smiled for the cameras.
Miss Brid' spectators from the RYYC couldn't quite believe their eyes.
Left: Multi-tasking RYYC Rear Commodore Simon Fry - who camped on site all week to organise rescue, catering, tractors, announcements, and everything else. Right: Our Championship barman takes a break.
